A community art project that takes flight

To celebrate the opening of The New School Montessori's new Kaleidoscope Center, more than 100 families came together to create handcrafted glass butterflies that now soar through the building's main entrance. Brazee Glass Design developed the fundraising community art program, designed the butterfly installation and executing the event for families to create their own unique butterflies. Proceeds from each butterfly helped raise funds for the school while covering the cost of the project. Turning community support into a permanent work of art, the installation welcomes students and visitors with a colorful kaleidoscope of butterflies, each one representing a family's contribution to the school's next chapter.
